I love real "rags to riches" stories... I kind of figure, hey, if they can do it, I should be able to do it (or something like it), too...!
This is a great short interview with John Paul DeJoria, a former navy man, who went from being fired, to starting his own line of hair care products (and sleeping in his car at the time for a while before the money came in, too)...
One thing he said was, if you want to be successful, "Be prepared for a lot of rejection. If 50 doors get slammed in your face, you have to be just as enthusiastic with door number 51!"

Dogged determination seems to be a part of it! My view is, if you've got persistence, you'll eventually come out on top! Be the tortoise, rather than the hare...

P.S. I've been spending a lot of time lately (with my brothers) clearing out the old family home, around 33 years of "stuff"... I've found some interesting old things, even from my school days. It's a heck of a lot of work, though!
