I agree, these are ideally what you want...
Something that, once you set it up, you don't need to put much effort in to keep it going.
These things do exist. An extreme example may be Harper Lee... She wrote one book (
"To Kill a Mockingbird"), published in 1960 - which today still sells from 750,000 to 1 million copies
every year. Harper Lee makes $9,249
every day in royalties - and she doesn't have to lift a finger. She continues to profit from it due to her copyright toll position... Of course, this is a rare and extreme example, but it illustrates the principle...
These are the kinds of toll positions I've been looking at nowadays. Things I can set up, acquire, or control, and which - once it's set up correctly - don't need too much looking after to keep bringing in income, hopefully for the rest of my life (and possibly beyond, for my next of kin)...
