I've had some of my antennae tuned into the stock market, and there are plenty of "weed"-based stocks... Some ganja-based US companies have even listed on the Australian stock market...
And it's for health!
Here's what I've gathered from what I've seen and heard...
Marijuana has many active components in it. THC is the one that gets you high. However, it also contains other cannabanoids...
The other cannabanoids don't get you high. But they have many health properties - including that they could help fight cancer, help with Alzheimer's, and many other possibilities...
Many of these companies are about taking the other cannabanoids - without the THC - and turning it into a medical product...
So... Who'd a thunk it?
Maybe we'll soon see Cheech and Chong playing doctors on TV, spruiking the latest cannabanoid-based medicine...
