What Do You Think of These Mail Order / Direct Response Books?
Hi Rick!
Wow, that's some real brain food there.... :)
We have Borders here in Australia now too (which is great, but it's increased my wallet-drain substantially, since I'm such a book-addict!). :)
Just a couple of weeks ago they had some incredible items on special at Borders here, books for only A$2 (about US$1 ) each! I got a copy of.... would you believe.... "Building a Mail Order Business" by William A. Cohen. This is a fat 571-page book on mail order! (I already had a copy, but I figured for US$1, I'd get another and decide what to do with it later.... :) ) I also got some other good business-related books too....
Now.... finding the time to read all these.... That's the next challenge!!!
I've also been looking at my copy of "7 Steps to Freedom II" (by Benjamin Suarez) lately too.... I think among the various books on mail order I have, this is the most comprehensive. I've found some good information in there I couldn't find anywhere else. But I've also found having several books by different authors tends to complement each other, since everyone does it slightly differently....
I also recently got a lot of original back issues of the Gary Halbert Letter, which are fantastic! It's going to take me a while to read them all.... :) (As you know, you can also check out a whole bunch of them at www.thegaryhalbertletter.com ....)
Which leads me to ask.... Which books on mail order / direct response do you like the best? (I have plenty of them, but it'd be interesting to know what everyone thinks....)
Oh, and also, how about videos? With my GHL order I also got a free video, which is from some "Direct Mail Bootcamp" I think with Bill Myers, Ted Nicholas, Gary Halbert, and other marketers.... I'm new to watching "marketing videos" -- are there any which are "must sees" ?
