Of course, nothing beats a straight from the horse's mouth education...but there are some fantastic books, and if you search for bargains, on eBay, scribd, and old bookstores, for less than a couple of hundred bux, you'll have a treasure trove of how to information, including the following:

Of course, you can find Harvey Brody's original course once in awhile on eBay, and although dated, still a great starter guide.

And one, you may not want, but check your library is: LICENSING ROYALTY RATES by Battersby and Grimes. It sells for 849.00...you might get it and offer a report of research based on it to help cover the expenses.

If you deal or want to deal with Intellectual Property, an attorney who specializes in it is the way to go, pay a small fee to talk to one, and see what their rates would be IF YOU NEED THEM.
