Have you heard about the new Easter "egg" tradition?
Instead of painting Easter eggs... People are painting their Easter potatoes!
Like all good holiday traditions... This one comes from commerce!
Namely, from Potatoes USA, the marketing and promotion board representing US potato farmers and importers...
But, maybe there's something to it!
Just like you can eat an Easter egg afterwards (if it's cooked)... You can paint a raw potato and - if it's painted with safe-to-eat food dye - you can also bake your potato afterwards and eat it too!
I'm not sure how well this one will catch on!
Just like Coca-Cola helped to create the Santa Claus character we know and love today...
Who knows, maybe Potatoes USA will soon get us all to go on an Easter potato hunt!
