85 Yr Old Mechanic in FINSKBURG Taught me Something NEW
Thanks Dien/Gordon,
Winter of 2025 - Battery Dead on My Toyota Tacoma.
Below Freezing.
Door and Hood Frozen Shut.
After it Warmed up to 40 Degrees.
I Poured hot water on everything.
Yanked the Battery out.
Bought a 99.00 Battery at "Battery Warehouse
Put it in.
But Couldn't get The Blasted Clamp - Strap That Holds The Battery in place
So it does not FALL OUT - in Place.
Drove to Semi-Retired 85 Yr Old Mechanic in FINKSBURG, Maryland.
Told him, "I will Pay you to Use Your MAGIC FINGERS on my New Battery."
Charles Laughed.
And We Swapped Stories for a While.
He has some Doozies.
While we were Talking I noticed he is putting INSULATION in The Ceiling of his Garage. He lives upstairs.
HUH.
I have put Extra Insulation in my Attic.
But Never Considered putting Fiberglass Insulation
in the Basement Ceiling. Btwn The 2 By 6 inch floor boards.
Some spaces Measure 13 inch - others 14.5
The Stuff at Amazon.com
Only Comes in 15 Inch rolls or Batts.
So.
My Plan.
Buy a 100 Dollar Roll. To Test. Goo From There.
IF a Lot Warmer.
This will Save me Thousands in Fuel oil and Electricity costs.
Thanks,
glenn
Oh Yeah.
Charles has this MASSIVE ScrewDriver.
And He held One side of the Clamp Down. Leaned the Huge Screw Driver
on it so it couldn't FALL OUT Like it did for me - For an Entire Hour.
And MAGIC. All done.
Cost me 5 Bucks.
