I guess the two professors (McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario) who own the partnership have no desire to live the life of poor professors. Not only do they charge their fees in US dollars instead of Canadian but they also charge $995 per person for a one day seminar. (I charged that much for one of my seminars 10 years ago.)
$10,000 isn't that high when you consider that their per diem rate is likely to be at least $1000 a day -- which the book replaces -- and at least 10 people in a company will be accessing their e-book. The book price appears to be a licensing fee. Incidentally, it may be a coincidence but they appear to be using some of the audacious consulting methods and pricing I taught in my Toronto seminars when I had my practice there. I should check to see if they were students of mine. (wink)
