Of course you’re right. I will give you several examples why I believe this.
I think in the late 1800s or early 1900s the head of the Patent office resigned because he thought we had invented all the things possible.
Many times businesses went to newspapers and other advertisers that should have known business and advertisement. These businesses asked for unused space and the advertiser could keep a large % of the gross. The advertisers said no they could not make money that way. But why would you want to advertise in that media if you could not get sales.
When I was in graduate school I asked professors in different fields thought related fields. One was a mathematic teacher and the other taught TQM. We were studying inventory in both classes. I asked the mathematic teacher if we should do just in time inventory or keep inventories. He said keep inventories. The other professor in TQM advises to do just in time inventory. Who was right? I had to make my own decision.
Yes, education gets in the way when anyone refuses to learn or have an open mind.
