Hello,
I read Dien's latest post... and I too have been busy *behind the scenes" creating and testing business ideas. :-)
(I currently have 3 different businesses going... all based on my "expertise" of Internet Advertising and Marketing.)
Therefore, I almost never have enough time to post on sowpub anymore. Of course, I still "lurk." ;-)
O.k. On to my question to you...
Just as most of you (if not all), I've been reading about, hearing, and even thinking about ebay.
So, I wanted to take the time to do my own test.
I took a total of 10 days, from beginning to end, to implement the beginnings of this ebay test.
Here's what I did...
First, I invested $13 in an ebook to get an understanding of how ebay operates. Next, I went to 1 auction and 4 garage sales in a 2 day period, and purchased some items for a total of $11.
I than used the "secrets" I have used, over and over again, to get the number 1 listing on numerous Search Engines.
I created what I thought to be an extremely effective ebay selling system in 7 hours... this system was based on our 3 years of Internet sales and marketing experience.
Then, I took photos of my "ebay test items." After that, I placed my items up for sale.
Since this was all new to me, I was a little nervous. Boy, did I feel funny when I realized I had just bid on one of my own items!
I least that is what I thought... because within the first 4 minutes I had a bid! Hmmm... this could get very exciting... and addictive! :-)
By the end of the first week, 8 of 11 items I had posted had been bid on, and sold.
Now here is what I find to be *very* exciting... my investment for the "test" items came to $11.
(Remember, I only paid an averaged out amount of $1 for each item. For one item, I only paid 10 cents for it at a garage sale).
Eight of the 11 items sold. I relisted the 3 items which didn't sell... I'm testing an idea with them too, now. :-)
The dollar amount in sales returned was a total of $118!
The lowest bid on an item was $3.00, and the highest was $46.25. (Again, remember... I only paid an averaged amount of $1.00 for each item.)
Now, I know that $118 is not a great deal of money. And, of course, I have to deduct my one time investment of a $13 ebook. Also, the extremely minimal ebay fees.
However, what I'm excited about is that I used the *exact* some methods on ebay that I've used on my other successful Internet ventures.
So, my questions to you are...
Would you consider my ebay selling experience a success?
Do you think my ebay sales were a good enough ROI?
If I put my system together in a "packet," do you think others would be interested in purchasing my system for selling on ebay?
Or, do you think this was all just beginner's luck?
I really would appreciate your honest thoughts and opinions on this test.
I look forward to reading your comments.
Cordially,
Diane Everroad
