Default Things to consider about hosting and autoresponders

Hi Ken,

1. I can't give specifics of pages or traffic, but it sounds minimal for a biz site with commercial traffic.
That's adequate for a lot of sites and some traffic, but lots of basic hosting packages offer twice that or even more.

2. The ability to import, export, mail to all or some, move customers from one AR series to another depending on their purchases, and the ability to track everything are all things to think about when selecting an AR.

A system that lets you manage multiple lists from one place, and shift things around as needed is a huge advantage, compared to having different systems that may or may not be compatible.

Then there is the customer service issue. Phone or email only, 24/7 or 8-5 M-F? How quickly they respond and are they excellant, competant, or worse. What about downtime?
This is especially important with the hosting. And some hosts don't deal well with a commercial internet marketing website that has lots of traffic, big lists, lots of email, etc..

How do they deal with spam complaints? Do they shut you down cold or give you a chance to prove it really was opt-in?

A service built by an internet marketer for that purpose, is made to handle the business, and the people running it understand these issues. Not all hosts or services do.

All things to consider.

Autoresponders: Aweber is great quality but gets spendy to add several.

Many folks give GetResponse good reviews. Many happy users.

AutoresponsePlus is supposed to be excellant, great features, lots of options.

Of course, there is the issue of using a third party service or getting a script to put on your server.
Does anyone know of a real good discussion of the pros/cons of each?

There are many other good ones with various advantages/disadvantages.

The only place I have seen all you need in one commercial package is WarriorPro.
It's really hard to beat Allen's Warrior package:

http://www.WarriorPro.com/cgi-bin/w.cgi?38024

with hosting, autoresponders, list handling, tracking, private Warrior membership, and residual income. Users rave about the customer service.
When you add up all the features, it's an incredible deal.

(Sorry about the aff. link, but you can't get there without it.)

It seems to me that having a "package" with one control panel that you can handle your responders, lists, newsletters, etc, all from one place, would be a lot easier. Especially when you have multiple lists and products.

There are enough posts on these boards to give you "AR overload" if you go searching for them. :-)

Does anyone know of a really good side-by-side comparison of autoresponders?

Best of luck with your choice Ken. Let us know what you pick, and why.

Success to All,
Dave
