Default Is your personal brand at risk?

Unfortunately, we now live in a world where it is easier than ever to "trash" another person's reputation... Fairly or unfairly.

Anyone with a big Twitter following can easily trash another person's reputation - and that person often can't do much back...

I recently read about Will.I.Am (from the music group the Black Eyed Peas) trashing (by name) an airline flight attendant on Twitter, who he said was racist. Maybe he's right and maybe he's wrong, I don't know - but I notice there's a big power discrepancy here... Will.I.Am has over 12 million followers on Twitter... The flight attendant could "tweet" a response, and it wouldn't have the same effect...

That's why it is more important than ever to control your own reputation... And to do that, you need to develop a personal brand! (Which also means to build a following...)

I'm becoming more and more convinced of this...

Here's an interesting article on this topic...
