I see today, especially in those wanting to get into IM, have such a lack of business skills, NO concept of selling, marketing, bookkeeping, even writing. And there are some who will say, so what if I write i in lower case, i'm hip to the way things are today....maybe so, but you ain't gettin any work from me, or from most people who regard spelling and grammar to be a given in writing work for hire.
Hi Gordon,

I got me some high kwalifikations... however... didn't help me none in the world of commerce...

I couldn't sell a life vest to a drowning man... But...

On your advice, I got a job doing sales. And learned a lot!

It was some of the best advice I ever got...

Because you pretty much can't be in business for yourself unless you can sell. Not only selling product, or your services, but also selling shares (if you want to raise investment capital), or selling your business as a great place to work (if you want to attract talent)...

There are a number of hurdles to overcome in creating and running your own business. Sales is one of the big ones...!

Thanks for sharing your story!

Sometimes the speed bumps we think we're hitting are really launch ramps...!

Best wishes,

Dien
