I came across the story Dr. G. Venkataswamy (Dr. V) and the Aravind Eye Care System that he founded to eliminate needless blindness.

How, inspired by the assembly line business model of McDonalds, Dr. V and his staff built one of the largest eye-care systems in the world by selling sight-restoring operations to poor people in southern India.

IMHO - fasinating, inspiring, educational, truly remarkable!
