Default Something funny about that recipe...

> The Hunzas are considered to be the
> healthiest people on earth.

By WHO?

For that matter... Who are the Hunzas?

HUNZA DIET BREAD RECIPE
> Hunza Diet Bread is a delicious, dense,
> chewy bread that's very
> nutritious and is almost impervious to
> spoilage. The following recipe
> makes a huge batch of approximately 60
> (sixty) x 2 inch squares, high
> in protein, vitamins and minerals.

> Keeps weeks at room temperature, even longer
> in the fridge and
> indefinitely in the freezer.

> The recipe for this wonderful bread is as
> follows: -

> Recipe One

> * 4 cups of water
> * 3.5 (three & one half) to 4 pounds of
> natural buckwheat or millet
> flour
> * 1.5 (one & one half) cups of canola
> oil

The Hunzas had canola oil?

> * 1.5 (one & one half) cups of natural
> unrefined sugar

Isn't that called Cane Sugar juice? That's the only natural sugar that's unrefined, isn't it?. Of course, it could depend on your definition of "refined."

> * 16 ounces of honey
> * 16 ounces of molasses

Is that weight ounces or liquid ounces?

> * 4 ounces of powdered soya milk (half cup)

The Hunzas had powdered soya milk? What purpose does this powdered soya milk serve in the recipe? What more healthy alternative is there. Is this where the protien is supposed to come from? I'd rather use eggs.

> * 1 teaspoon sea salt
> * 1 teaspoon cinnamon
> * 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
> * 2 teaspoons baking powder (non aluminium)

The reason it makes you feel full is because of the oil content.

Otherwise... it is an interesting recipe.

On a side note... there has been this ad running recently. It is selling jube-like sweets (snakes, bears and turtles I think they are). It is being touted as all natural, nothing artificial and 99% fat free.

I walked over to the fruit bowl, grabbed an orange and thought... all natural, not artificial and 100% fat free. More nutritious too.

I also thought... a bag of sugar could be claimed to be "natural" and fat free. Yet no-one in their right mind would think eating a whole bag of sugar is good for you.

It's sad that food sellers are allowed to call something "natural" and "contains nothing artificial" when it is loaded with refined sugar.
