Default A note on Anthony Bourdain...

Everyone's writing about Anthony Bourdain, but I wanted to get my 2 cents in...

I was a fan of his TV shows. He traveled a lot, was open to new foods, and also new cultures... Respectful of others, with a sense of adventure...

He was also unvarnished. He showed you could be your own self, be different, and be a breath of fresh air...

In fact, being different is the name of the game!

So, I was sad at hearing the news...

One other thing I'd like to mention is that, I had a history of depression when I was much younger (late teens, early twenties). I found the key thing that really helped me "climb out" was spirituality... It's not often mentioned. That was my experience, anyway... (Of course, you should find your own path or paths if you do it...) Authentic spirituality helps to reduce your ego... I feel reducing my ego helped me immensely in beating depression. (With the caveat that everyone could be different, and that depression can have different causes...)

Best wishes,

Dien
