Love magic words, in fact, reshooting my SPIDERS, SNAKE AND MICE story this weekend. Just finished the rough draft of
BLIND REMOTE PERSUASION.
The 3 kinds of PI are,
Direct. Face to face. One to one, or a combo, mostly in real time, but can be video and saved, like a TED talk.
Remote Direct. Like Skype, Zoom, Facebook Messenger, iPhone Facetime, these are also mostly real time, with the ability to record them.
And then,
BLIND DIRECT PI.
You have to assume or know your target is THERE, behind the curtain, either reading, watching, listening to what you are doing.
In the written word model, as you are using at Medium, you don't see the reader, it is only after they are there, their presence is known. YOU know they are there, and are TESTING magic words on them.
Of the 3 ways of PI, Blind Direct, may be the fastest, easiest, and most profitable way. Although, in your example of a Karen (not the best name to have right now), a DIRECT approach is working very well.
The opportunity to cash in on the use of MAGIC WORDS may be at an all time high.
I like your pics. We're going to do very short two to three minute videos, maybe linked to a pic. Say your hat was clickable, and opened up a short video of you or someone wearing it and getting live comments...and then explaining HOW TO turn this attention/engagement into a transaction.
