Default Pretty good automated transcription from Google... Speak to write!

I've been testing Google transcription on my phone... Using the Google "GBoard" keyboard...

You can download for any Android phone (check the Google Play store) or for iPhone (check the App store)... (I'm using it on the iPhone...) It's free!

The way it works is you first download the GBoard keyboard on your phone, and follow the instructions to install it and activate it.

Once you've got it installed and have selected to use it as your keyboard, you long-press the spacebar. That starts the "listening" process... And it will transcribe whatever you say, in whatever writing app you're in!

I've found it works quite well!

By the way, you can try Google's speech recognition engine online too... Here's one place (though it only works with the Chrome browser)...

https://speechnotes.co

It's also built into Google Docs. In a document in Google Docs, select "Tools" and from the drop-down menu, choose "Voice Typing"...

I've found it is much more accurate on my phone than on my desktop. (Maybe my phone microphone is better, or maybe it's something else!)

I thought I'd mention it to those who may not know about it... For many, I expect it would make writing much easier!

If it doesn't work well for you on your computer, try it on your smartphone...

Best wishes,

Dien
