Default Why selling is necessary, even when they're literally lined up to buy (An Interesting Story)

I lived in Denver during the two consecutive Bronco Super Bowl victories.

Being an entrepreneur type, I decided to cash in on that rare event and located a supplier of Bronco memerabilla. And for several months, I had a table at one of the largest flea markets in the country - the Mile High Flea Market.

My displays of Bronco window clings, bandanas, key chains, earrings, caps, pins and the like, were attractively displayed for the more than 15,000 daily shoppers there.

At first, I just sat there and collected money, but I noticed that even though people were literally lined up to see what I had (items priced from 50 cents on up) - about 75% of them would just look and walk away.

After a few weeks of that, I decide to "sell what they already wanted".

I simply stood up and greeted the people and then pointed out the different items and possible uses for them. Just doing that increased my daily take from about $60 to between $300 and $400 for the day and it stayed that way, as long as I did the "selling thing".

Sometimes it's important to recognize the value of selling and the different forms it takes.

Default The biggest money-makers at swap meets and flea markets are..........

While spending so many weekends at the flea marketing, offering my Bronco's stuff, I got another education there too.

The occupants of the stalls and tables on both sides and across from me were constantly changing, and gave me the opportunity to get aquainted with many different people, who were offering a variety of things.

What I noticed that attracted more people and made more money than anything else were tools, (power and manual), watches, and the number one money-maker, that seemed to be consistent was jewelry - pendands, necklaces, earrings, charms, bracelettes and rings.

I was next to a few of those who sold jewelry and one man, in particular, who was there (next to me) at least half a dozen times, consistently went home with over $2000 (half that was his profit). He was very open about his business, plus, I could see for myself, that his table had a consistent line of people, where with mine, they came in spurts.

A most interesting experience to say the least.

Michael --

You've hit on a good way to spot what's "hot".

You can do the same thing at trade shows (the ones held in big convention centers.)

See what tables have BIG groups of people trying to get information of sign up for something.

And, now that I think of it, I've been at trade shows where people have been flocking so see...

The same products on your Flea Market list!

Good spotting!
