Default Emotion is why I built an outhouse!

Outhouse envy is definitely an emotional
thing, and certainly not logic.

But what about my website. Did I do that
out of emotion or logic?

So far this has been interesting to watch.

My gardening friends and online contacts
love the idea, but my marketing friends are
just sort of scratching their head and wondering
if my head is completely empty these days.

I created this bizarre idea to see if the media
would bite. Do you think it will work?

Hi Mike, Reiman Publications might give you some free press in "Reminisce" magazine if you could send them a true personal story / reminiscences of outhouses from years gone by. They have 1.5 million subscribers but they only print true stories sent in by readers (no fiction) and there are no paid advertisments so if you are lucky enough to get some free press from them it should result in tons of orders plus they have several other magazines whose readers would be interested in what you have! Their website is: www.reimanpub.com

Default You should EXpand your Vision!

Back in the summer of 1999, the "sky is falling guru of year 2000"...Mr Gary North himself...paid for a CONCRETE CRAPPER!

Yup. He had a cement contractor come and build a Concrete OUTHOUSE at the rear of his home in Arkansas.

Gary received MANY writeups in local AND regional media. Photos on his website EXCITED the Media.

The point was...even though the world was going to SHUT DOWN on New Years Day, 2000...Gary North and his family (and friends) would have a SAFE PLACE TO CRAP!

It was WONDERFUL! I have pictures (from his website) showing the STAGES of construction.

LOTS of media picked up on Gary's Concrete Crapper BUT....on New Years Day of 2000...Gary went away like a wisp of smoke on a windy day...never to be heard from again.

BUT...he DID grab MUCH FREEBIE publicity.

So...one thing you could do to GRAB media attention is to make your outhouse CONCRETE....AND a place to survive, for the next holocaust.

Default Who do you use for video tape duplication?

Don,

I think I'll go for just plain old wooden publicity!

By the way Don, where do you get your videos duped, if your willing to share?

Thanks for the input.

What exactly is Gary North doing these days.

I suppose he doesn't have to do anything,
but that's not healthy. It could make a person
paranoid.

Default Gary North is alive and well

For those who may be curious, Gary North is apparently alive and well. He's moved well away from the year 2000 thing and has now set his sight on marketing with autoresponders. Check him out here:

http://www.garynorth.com

(Note: that is the same URL he used when he was big on the y2k thing.)

Best,
Phil

Northstar Video in Van Nuys, CA.

They have best price and service and is where many big time Video producers get theirs.

Mike,

Well, I, for one, love it. I'm not into gardening at all, but I think it's a terrific idea. And the "shedhouse" twist is great! Send out a few press releases to the right papers & mags, and you should get some great publicity and probably make a few bucks to boot. (Of course, you knew that.)
