Simplenote supports markdown and html. Joplin might be a little better, in that it supports different categories/notebooks. Notes can be synchronised with various cloud services including Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, WebDAV or the file system (for example with a network directory).

You can tag notes, and search across all of your notebooks if you want to. It also has a web clipper that you can use to save articles you are viewing in your browser. One thing I don't like about it, is the editor for adding your Markdown or html isn't so good. But you can export your note to an editor you have downloaded (there are lots of free ones) or use an editor online. Have a look at this one... https://dillinger.io/

Dillinger shows you how to use Markdown too. Markdown is a way to add images or format your text, add link, etc... It's getting quite popular. Social networks like MeWe Reddit and others support it. There is a Markdown plugin for WordPress too.
