Default Mastermind Vs. Group Coaching

Has anyone ever tested the value to the end user of using a Mastermind versus having a group call (using GotoMeeting, etc.) in a coaching context?

What I am trying to develop is my 40 years experience as a performer/public speaker into a program open 4 times a year. I originally produced a 26 week course which included audio, video, homework, etc.

This program would be more extensive with only a select few participating.

Included for reference purposes are all my promo pieces, along with audio packages sold outright in the past, i.e. "Lifetime of Mentalism."

Any thoughts?

Millard

Default I don't know what you mean by a Mastermind.

Could you tell me what is your idea of a Mastermind?

I've found it difficult to determine the VALUE to the end user, when coaching several people at a time because they may have different learning styles or be in a different place. If your Mastermind is open, that is, if a person can access it at any time, it could create bog down for you, whereas a meeting is done and over with maybe follow up questions. But, I'm sort of guessing about the Mastermind part.

Default Re: Mastermind Vs. Group Coaching

Gordon,

My idea of a Mastermind is a particular group of people that doesn't typically change who work together on a project or projects that benefit all in the Mastermind.

For example: You have five experts in solar power that meet once a week to discuss helping develop residential solar panels that are cheaper than average panels.

Or you could have a specific group of friends who just share ideas on couponing... your "Go to" group on a subject.

OK. I'm more in tune with the Jim Straw idea that a mastermind is between two people. Now that I think I understand let me see if I am getting it right, OK?

You want to offer a training to a limited number of people 4 times a year, so it would last approx 3 months or 12 weeks. I guess one benefit in having the group would be the interaction between those who participate, to share their experiences. Would you then allow this group to roll into the next one, or would they remain separate, or have one big group at the end?

It seems like a time limited membership site might suit your needs too, and once you do one, then couldn't you just sort of repeat it for the next group?

A group call or webinar can also be recorded, and then used over and over too, maybe with a live chat attached to each one??

Millard, I don't know really how you might do this, I do know that time is marching on, and you seem to be ready enough to just go ahead with it, and work out the kinks as you face them. Over the next year, with each 90 days under your belt, you will have perfected the system so that next year, it can be done based on the feedback of your members, and therefore, give the best value to the end user.

Sounds like a good thing, and you are as ready as you need to be to launch, or so my opinion thinks.

Default the mastermind

Thanks Gordon for the examples !

A limited time membership is more of what I am going for in this case. To be more specific, I have many years of entertainment experience as well as boatloads of digital support files (letters, ads, websites, promo pieces, audio courses, and the like).

I don't want all these things to fade away.

Right now, I am leaning to having a 90 day membership program with me having an active part for the first year while I continually tweak and improve it.

I will let you know how things go as I progress.

Thanks again !

Default Have you Seen the *New* Trend in On-Line S*ales Letters For Courses?

Thanks Gordon,

Several On-Line "Guru's" are Recycling a Strategy Dr Donald Moine uses to
make his "S*ell-from-the-Stage" Clients an Extra 20 M*illion or so.

I was on a Conference Call Years Ago.

Found out how Dr Moine INSERTED a Juicy anecdote
each time - in the Speech - when he spotted the Audience Attention Flagging.

2.3 M*illion a Year Turned into 22 M*illion
a year from the SAME stage Presentation!

NOW.

Bright and Shiny and New.

People who are Marketing 5000.00 On-Line Programs.

Are Inserting BONUS LINKS in their Copywriting.

RATHER than Spend The 5K to learn how to do it.

I just DID IT.

Should be an Interesting TEST.

All Print.

Print Interrupted By ADDED VALUE ENTERTAINMENT.

Like this Color Pic of my Lunch
With one LED FLASHING Ice Cube - that Attracts People to my Restaurant table.

LED IceCubes
And

And

Awesome, Glenn!

I LOVE the idea!

I'm always looking for ways to make my writing interesting...

It's not always easy!

I usually do it by looking for the interesting angle... But I also sometimes pop in (what I hope are) interesting images too!

Which reminds me of one of my favorite ads... David Ogilvy's The Man in the Hathaway Shirt!

What catches your attention when you see this ad?

What catches my attention is...

The eyepatch!

So... you read the copy.

Why does this man have an eyepatch?

Did he wrestle a bear, who popped his eye out?

Or maybe...

Was he in a fighter plane accident during the war?

You read and read... and...

...you never find out. But you do find out about how great Hathaway shirts are!

I love it!

Fun fact... The Most Interesting Man in the World campaign is said to be a knock-off of the original Man in the Hathaway Shirt ads...
