Attn: Computer Nerds: Is The Dell 5150 A Good Choice?
For what you get (memory, devices, options, etc.) compared to the price and reputation of the product build, is the Dell 5150 Laptop a good choice? Or would you recommend I look at other products-- using the 5150 as a comparison.

Adam, this is my choice for a laptop...
Hey Adam,
Nice to hear from you. I went shopping for laptops last year to upgrade my Dell Lattitude. I needed a muscle machine because I was doing a lot of multimedia work. I was just about to purchase a Toshiba when I went over to Half.com and found these guys. I purchased a MONSTER laptop from them for an incredible price. Their service has been very good (make sure you keep your receipt) and the laptop hasn't had any problems whatsoever. Go to half.com and type in "x-technology" Here's laptop I purchased from them. X-Technology P4 2.4Ghz (533FSB)/512mb DDR/40GB/DVD/CDRW/USB 2.0 (x4)/FireWire (x2)/56K/LAN/PCMCIA/4 In 1 Card Reader/15" TFT - Notebook Computers! Re: Attn: Computer Nerds: Is The Dell 5150 A Good Choice?
Dell 5150 doesn't have centrino. I would go with centrino if I had to buy a computer now.
A p4 laptop has battery life of 1-3 hours. A centrino laptop has a battery life of 6-12 hours. So I would go for a centrino. And I would get a laptop with more ram so that it doesn't slow down after 1 year or so. 512 ram recommended. |
