The problem with US being able to use this 'advanced technology', they are looking at those which CRASHED. Sort of like examining the Wright Bros. Kitty Hawk machine looking for secrets to use on F-16's.
I believe, as a conspiracy theorists emeritus, these craft found, both parts and whole ones are really RED HERRINGS used by the ET's to throw us off scent. It was their OPERATION MINCEMEAT, the successful subterfuge proposed by Ian Fleming during WWII.
