Default The doom and gloom crowd are spunking in their panties.

Notice the spam? Porter Stansberry, Bill Bonner, Martin Weiss and a host of other "Gold" brokers are salivating themselves all down their "Chicken Little" bibs.

The stock market is nervous, Greece is in the toilet, China can't wipe it's butt with the American dollars it "holds"...

S & P short sellers are lining up for the soon to happen crash.

Is it DeJa Vu election cycle rhetoric, making big bux by scaring their respective herds? Or are we finally in the end of days? And the survivors only want to help their all powerful god to restart a proper civilization?

ATMs will suddenly close, credit cards won't work, shelves will be bare, hey, anyone know somebody with a truck load of tee-pee saved from the last emergency??

So, what's a fellow to do? Bury his head in the sand and go to the movies?

Crank up the generators to make sure they work?

Whatever floats your boat. (We's got us a submarine standing by, take that cave dwellers...)

What a great time to have a business which makes money, isn't it?

Come to think of it, has there been a bad time?

Dien and I are involved in some interesting projects, separately and jointly, and if we survive the summer, will have some very useful information for those of you serious enough about your businesses.

In the meantime, keep a close eye on the skies, perhaps Fidel is bringing out the hidden missiles and is going out with a bang...but, I, being an old fart, know how to hide under my desk, as we did back in grade school.

Now, if only I could escape that crazy beeotch Rachel, who spams me constantly from her bikini clad beach resort where her and Dr.?? Oz have run off together to serve as Oprah's personal assistants.

Good times. The best of times.

Hi Gordon,

On Greece... People in Greece recently haven't been able to get their money out of their bank accounts. ATMs in Greece have been slapped with a 60 Euro daily withdrawal limit...! (That's about $67 US dollars.) It effectively "locks" their life savings in the bank, so they can't get money out, except in a tiny dribble.

A couple years ago in Cyprus, uninsured bank accounts were "raided" by their government, which imposed a 47.5% "levy" on those bank accounts! That is, they took almost half the money of people with uninsured bank accounts...

So, this can happen. Governments can - and sometimes will - raid people's bank accounts to pay debts.

However, what I think Americans (and some others) have to worry about more is the potential to be hit by civil asset forfeiture laws. That's where the government can take your money because they think it has links to crime. They don't have to prove it in any way, and you have to go to court to get your money back (you're guilty until proven innocent). And that's if you can afford to go to court after they've already taken all your money!

Of course, many in small business need lots of cash at times - to pay employees, for instance, or to pay for equipment. That money can be seized at any time by the government, without you being charged in any way.

Here's an article about a small business owner who lost his money this way, simply because he was carrying it around when he had a minor traffic infraction...

http://www.forbes.com/sites/georgele...e-as-jim-crow/

Here are some people who had their house seized, because they sold it to a guy who the government suspected of crimes, and they agreed to an arrangement where he would pay for it later. The sellers had no connection to the guy's crimes, but the government took their property anyway. They ended up virtually bankrupt.

Scary stuff!

That's why it's a good idea to have the bulk of your assets in a form the government can't easily take from you. However, that's easier said than done!

One way could be by having assets in intellectual property. For example, I think if you own copyrights, it's perhaps more difficult for the government to "seize" them and turn them into cash (which is what they really want). It's a lot easier for governments to seize a fancy car, or a real estate property, or cash in your bank account... which is something they understand much better.

Best wishes,

Dien

This tells you the government can do anything it wants. If this doesn't scare the holy crap out of you, nothing will. By the way, aren't we condemning Assad for using chemical weapons and didn't we invade Iraq cuz some guy named Hussein used them too?

So maybe doom and gloom actually exist. Funny how conspiracy theories are starting to now be called fact with "facts" heretofore kept under wraps coming to light.

Oh, and the TPP that the Big O is negotiating is being held under lock and key and not available to the average Joe to read. Only selected politicians get to read it and even they can't make a copy.

Yep, doom and gloom is here but it isn't called that.

Now, having said that, a guy should still be concentrating on making money. The doom and gloom crap will always be here so adjust to it and use it to your advantage. Sell survival kits or something like that.

By the way the technical term for government taking money from your bank account is called a Bail In. A bail out is where they give money to thieving banks and other such parties. Thought you'd like to know.

What I don't get is, why can't some of these "human experiments" they're conducting on us be positive?

Instead of trying to spray everyone in a city with bacteria, like they did in San Francisco... Why can't the government do an "experiment" and see what happens when, in the morning, everyone finds free chocolate on their doorstep? Who knows, the results of such an experiment could be useful in places like Iraq, too!

I really should go into elected office...

Best wishes,

Dien

Default You and Herbie Hoover only...

you could offer free pot in every chicken!

And include a bag of Doritos.

You could be the next Governor of CA, CO or even OH (Not)

How about we spray the the current incumbents with our "Ouster Spray"...
only problem, new crop catches the same power flu as the last guy.

How about we elect all the lobbyists instead...or would that just be redundant?

Best idea, take their money sell them campaign stuff, paid up front.
