Default Gary Halbert Ad

Here I go again asking for help in finding an ad.

Gary Halbert used to do seminars to help local business owners.

I think the ads usually started out with a headline about killer advertising and getting more customers than your business can handle.

Is anyone familiar with these ads that Gary used for his seminars?

Are these ads floating around somewhere?

Thanks.

Millard

Thanks Gordon. This isn't the ad I was looking for, but it is an excellent example of what Gary halbert can do.

The ad I am looking for had Halbert and a girlfriend in the top right hand corner of the ad with a big headline about "Killer" advertising to get more new customers for your business.

I will keep looking.

I appreciate your help.

Again, thanks !

Just as a follow up Gordon...

I was reading through Gary's ad about his seminar and got to thinking...

Are there any transcripts of this seminar? Maybe even recordings somewhere?

Would be interesting to actually hear or read what Halbert actually said, even though we know his stuff.

Sure, and you are right in asking the Halberts (Bond and Kevin) in their Facebook group about all of his old stuff.

It was, as I remember, a pitch for ongoing services, and I think that is what you want to do. Sell local businesses on an ongoing retainer for marketing services???? Just guessing.

My opinion is, Jay Abraham is a better source than Halbert, he did tons more consulting along this line, and Glenn Osborn is our resident expert on Jay Ab.

So maybe he might have some of that gold buried away.

And a side not, based on my own experience.

About 16 years ago I offered a 12 week course in speed copywriting, and I spent a lot of time looking for an ad, and I couldn't recall if it was Mel Martin or Gene Schwartz, but I felt it contained some "key" verbiage that I could use...and once I found it, it wasn't what I thought it was.

It was, for me, another form of procrastination/pefectionism, when I all I really had to do was just get it out there and offer it, and tweak as it went along. Point being, maybe the old ad will help you, but don't let it delay you from making your offer, you ( like me) ain't gettin any younger, eh?

Jay Abraham specialized in these whereas Gary was more of a quick money grab in between gigs. I'm sure the brothers Halbert in their archives, not sure how much it might cost you, but Gary is worth the price for sure.

Gordon

P.S. I mean it was for people like you, who wanted to get into the help the business get more customers, but I could be wrong on that one.

Gordon, thanks for reminding me of a few things.

You were right. I do like to help business owners make more cash.

I usually have to go a ways away from my local area simply because it is tourist, and almost all the businesses are chains.

But there are PLENTY of local businesses around me that I can talk to when I want. Most of the folks I talk to are owner-operators, which is exactly who I want to talk to about improvement. Too much hassle with corporate deals.

Most local business owners who are looking for more customers, business etc. can be found at BNI meetings or local functions. However, when I go into a store that is local and BUY something, the owner is apt to talk. Although another secret is that I buy items I want over time, so I develop a relationship.

Ha! Kind of like stealth consulting. Gotta do my research.

Of course, now it is more me wanting to do it rather than having to do it. (It's the game)

Now that I think of it, it has always been the game for me.
