Default Creating PDF ebooks

I was wondering if anyone knew of a free program that converts DOC files to PDF files? I wrote an ebook and now i'm looking for a way to convert it from "Word" to "Adobe Acrobat".

I would try BCL's Easy PDF - it installs as a virtual printer and it works very well.
I have looked all the free ones and they are all crap. I have spent $50 on a different one and it was crap. I would love to see if you found a free one - I just could not....
Good luck

You get what you pay for with some software.. literally

I use a couple of solutions
For items I'm emailing Jaws http://www.jawspdf.com
$79.00US

If you have your web site hosted on a server running php then here are 2 solutions that create pdf's on the fly.

Open Source:
http://www.rustyparts.com/pdf.php

Commercial:
http://www.interakt.ro/products/PDFreports/index.php

Works great cos all you do is place the document in as html and the pdf oly gets created when the link is clicked.

Hi Jason,
I am using a PDF converter which I got for free.

You can download it www.pdf995.com

It creates PDF files of whatever length you want and it creates any watermark on the pdf file created.

I would suggest you should also download a file callled pdfedit also available in the same site for free.

With that you can do a lot of thinkgs like joining two pdf documents, creating CONFIDENTIAL or whatever you like water mark, add page numbers to the file and lots more.

Do contact me if you have any further doubts.

Sincerely,
Edward Immanuel

Some comments about pdf995

It is only supported on Windows O/S and with the use of IE.
And their use of IP address raises privacy issues concerns. http://www.pdf995.com/faq.html

I would suggest it would only be of use to the office user.

I used to use www.fastpdf.com . Some other tools do a piss poor job of converting Word documents to pdf, and this service converted my files accurately, quickly and easily. You go to their site, upload your file, then they email you the results in a few minutes, sometimes seconds.

It's 2 bucks for 12 pages plus 15 cents a page, up to a max 18 bucks.

Jason,

With the patent running out on "PDF", many free and low cost resources have come about.

And for me, even free is a pest. I rather pay someone to do it for me .

I've got both resources at www.coachmaria.com/recommend/favorites/pdf.html

Enjoy!
