Default Another Look At My Performing Life

I have posted in the past a few questions about selling my experiences as a performer. The suggestions I received were very appreciated.

Upon contacting the owner of the biggest private group of paying magicians, (about 4000 members) I found that he wanted an outrageous amount of cash to promote my 6 month course, my books, my audios, and other materials.

I looked at another avenue. Joint Ventures.

Ha ! Most of those places want my bank info to pay me for online partners. Guess I need to set up an account somewhere other than my present bank to safeguard my present funds.

Finally, I may have found a way to package my life of performing and get it to the right people. Through the use of questions and a program called manychat on Facebook and Instagram, I can get a lot of people to interact and go to a website I produce to sell my lifetime of work.

Now, the key is that I have to ask the question... Do I want to do all this work to sell my stuff... or just let some one else sell it... keep a good chunk... and I just make some on-going cash?

In any case, I have a transcript almost finished of an audio program I produced some years ago about my performing career which I intend to release to test the waters.

Cheers,

Millard

Default Millard, what do YOU want?

I love you man.

But it pains me to see you asking the same question now, for what, a few years? I think the collective we have given you many ideas...

isn't it time for you to make a decision and do what you really WANT to do?

You have stored value.

You can keep it in storage. OR you can circulate it. The how and details are up to you, but isn't today better than tomorrow to get it into circulation?

Gordon

Thanks !

I want to sell my work, so it isn't lost.

I guess the bottom line is I need to get a JV partner to do the work...give him or her the bulk of the profits... get a few consultant clients and I am happy.

I appreciate you kicking me enough to clarify what I need to do... FINALLY.

(Frankly, I did not want to face the work I needed to do to get there)

Default You Might Want To Adapt What Robert Kiyosaki Did Millard

Thanks Millard,

I was Buying cases of books from Roberts Co-Writer and Editor.

So was on the Inside of how they FORCED sales of "Rich Dad.Poor Dad" Thru the roof. Before It Became POPULAR.

They wrote and Tested ONE Letter.
Or
Magazine Length Article.

Got the List of 300,000 Associations out of the Library.

CHANGED The Headline and a few words at the top.

Got Access To Literally MILLIONS of Business owners For FREE.

Because Each Trade Magazine - Print and online is DESPERATE for writers and good Articles.

After they got things rolling - moolah coming in from book sales.

They hired a TEAM.

And they Cycled Thru 100's of Trade Magazines.

THE PRICE is Right.

Cost is BUPKIS.

One Sales Letter and Testing. Not Like Digging Ditches.

Glenn

SAME THING Jay Leno does/did in his standup.

TELL A Few Jokes about PLUMBING to a Crowd of Plumbers.

Or

Start off With SALES Jokes to a Few 1000 Salespeople at a Training Off site.

THEN launch into their regular Proven Jokes.

Thanks,
Glenn

Thanks Glenn,

I am assuming you are talking about giving away a few nifty magic tricks to get people interested. Went to a large magic group on facebook and gave away a a nice report on getting shows and another about getting on tv. Although the groups liked the reports, magicians are notorious for being cheap. I think I might be better off going to a sales forum or group and offer my report on using magic to get sales. That seems to be what I get from your post.

Default My TESTS Keep me Humble Millard Cuz I am ALWAYS WRONG

Thanks Millard,

As You know.

To Sell to Magicians You have to Come up with something NEW they
can use to AMAZE People.

That is it.

ALL.

So You Shouldn't Try to Market Your Existing Magic Tricks.

Unless you can SPIN them or make them seem NEW.

QUESTION...

What did Your Research about Magicians Show they are BUYING
MOST - Right Now?

I'd LOVE to know that myself.

Thanks,
Glenn

You are right on the money Glenn.

Magicians are ALWAYS looking for a NEW trick or twist on an existing effect that can blow away a spectators mind.

Most of the successful tricks sold are sold using video of LIVE performances on the street or parties where spectators have the magic happen under their noses...
close-up magic.

As far as something that seems to have legs is training "roundtables" where a group of performers trains LIVE via ZOOM or other platform while keeping the focus on one type of effect.

Believe it or not the KID SHOW market makes the MOST money for successful performers... It is consistent, easy, and fun to do. There are always birthday parties, first communion parties, first-grade graduation parties, and the like ALL THE TIME.

In addition, I used to perform at DAYCARE centers several times a year and the kids MOBBED me because they were so happy to see me. As a result of the daycare shows, I often picked up birthday parties as well.

Hope this helps Glenn.

Default The Magic *FINGER THWAP* that Makes Millions

Thanks Millard,

Got a Crazy Idea for You.

How might you add The "Finger Thwap"
to a Performance?

Maybe have a pretty Stage Assistant FINGER TWAP a line of male Volunteers.

Let them Compete to Be Sawed in half.

(You would have to Watch out for FIGHTS. Because this "Finger Thap"
Drives men NUTS.)

Or

Tortured by The Pretty Assistant.

Default Using the Finger Thwap

Glenn,

I appreciate the finger thwap story.

It is apparent that the use of anchoring with the right words makes the money here. There have got to be plenty of places a person (man or woman) could use this technique without being offensive to get better service, more attention, and deals.

Maybe it is just better to "Flirt Tip" everywhere you go.

It would be interesting to hear more day-to-day stories of regular folks who have used these techniques.

I thanked a restaurant owner by explaining a simple referral method for more customers and he was so happy that he refunded my bill and NEVER charged me again when I went to eat.

These tips WORK !

Default I LOVE the "finger thwap" story!

Hi Glenn and Millard,

I LOVE the "finger thwap" story!

I did something similar to help get me my wife...

This was at least two decades ago... I had just been reading about NLP...

I was meeting the young woman who later became my girlfriend, then my wife...

We met in a park on campus (this was at university)...

I thought I'd try some "anchoring"...

While we were sitting and talking, I (genuinely) complimented her, and when I did so, I gently touched her upper arm in a casual, normal way...

Then I did it again (also while genuinely complimenting her)...

Now, if I wanted her to have a good feeling, I'd just gently touch her upper arm...

And...

...We're married today, with a little one-year-old tyke running around...

I didn't use "anchoring" all the time... but I believe it helped to lay the "seed"...

Best wishes!

Dien
