Default First real day of Winter, snow on the ground.

I was out earlier, now time to stay in, stay warm and stay busy, which means more time for me to yakkity yak yak it up here (lucky you).

The winterites are out, snow plows, sidewalk shovelers, ice skaters. I'm looking for air fares to Miami/San Diego. It does make the place more festive, as seen here:

For some small businesses we're about to enter the make/break season.

I worked for several seasons for Hickory Farms at their Chapel Hill Mall kiosk and they made their dough during Thanksgiving and Christmas. I sold a lot of Christmas packages, but it was a pretty easy sale to make, especially for out of town relatives. Just pay and we ship.

Toy stores and toy companies are make or break holiday type businesses.

One of my most successful "Toys" I sold at the mall was a golf game, it had small golf whiffle balls with velco and you hit the ball with a real club to a target green. Sold for 24.95, by the tons. I added a Gift Certificate for my golf shop and a free lesson, so it was a great gift.

I have created a few games, most remain up on the shelf, simply not enough time to do them justice. And, by the way, the PET ROCK has made a comeback of sorts,

There you go. Old things, new presentations. Gosh what a great time to be starting or expanding a business.

Well, ok, time to make some hot cocoa.

Stay warm or don't get sunburned, depends on location I guess.
