Default My best advice.

It doesn't get followed. Rarely used or applied.

But I give it anyhow. Feel free to ignore, as most do.

IF you want some online success, or if thinking of, or planning on starting a new venture, then my best advice for you is:

First thing: WRITE out a promotion for your product or service.

Use free tools if you want, like Google Docs, or Open Office, but put it down and even print it out to see...

Some sort of a promotion or sales letter for what you will be doing.

The reason is, it helps clarify your objective. It takes you from the fuzzy idea, the nebulous thought...the gray skies of maybe to the bright days of clarity and purpose.

See, when you write a promotion, you are writing TO someone, WHOM?

WHERE will they read this, or see it? What exactly do you want them to do?

WHY would they do that?

So, there you go.

After 30 years of online marketing, I can tell with about 99% accuracy who is going to be around in a few years and who is going to be looking for something else very soon...by their willingness to do the hard part...

THE THINKING...

BEFORE they invest a lot of time, energy and money into their projects and the way to see if their thinking is clear, is to read a promotion on what it is they are going to offer to the world.

Default HIGHEST INFLATION in 40 YEARS. Today's headline.

Have you noticed?

Prices on the rise? Your dollar not buying as much as it did a couple of months ago?

Omicron for everyone? HEADLINES.

Or opportunities?

IRS, venmo, paypal, ebay and the 1099 future.

Thank goodness for chattleing cash deals, and if a business, well, there are a lot of expenses involved, so maybe little to no NET profits (albeit, pockets full of cash).

We haven't changed our philosophy in the last 20 years...BE PREPARED and set up bread and butter and add multiple streams of income.

As for creating information products the WORLD will buy, use today's headlines to see where tomorrow is going.

Default I wish I had done that more myself in the past!

Hi Gordon,

This is great advice! I wish I had done this more myself in the past...

I've also read of a alternative (though very similar) version, which is to write a media release for your product, before you create it... Apparently this is one of the things they do internally at Amazon, before creating a new service or product...

Best wishes,

Dien

I was going to write exactly that Dien: I read there are some guys that 1st write sales letters for products and 2nd create the products!

I didn't knew that about Amazon, that is very interesting.

Interesting: https://the-amazon-way.com/future-press-release/

Default The idea is clarity.

See? At least Bezos followed my advice.

The press release he wants them to write helps identify the market.

In my version (promotion), one problem, is a PRE conceived idea of what that is. FACT, a 15 word CLASSIFIED is a a promotion, no one says it has to be thousands of words.

Well, speaking of TODAY, making money, HEadLine NEWs...inflation, the FED, all has a very 1982 feel to it...so maybe time to rub the budda for good luck.

This was one of the best selling products in 1982, as seen here:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/cosmolutz/9107163079

And you know what else was HOT, back then, when inflation exploded?

Work from home business opportunities. A decade from 82 to 92 saw many a newly minted millionaire from selling BIZ OP, and alternative to job money making information.

Gee, I wonder if today's INFLATION struck crowd would have any interest?

Time to get the budda off the shelf.

Gordon,

if you were trying to sell an info product (e-book) to a specific language and Country where pratically no one is selling e-books on that language and on the Country, what niches you would try?

Not these answers:

- Sell information on other format, like free Youtube videos with advertising;
- Sell to worlwide in English;
- Forget sell information, sell instead physical products;
- Forget digital, do it physical print book;

Thank you.

I would ask myself WHY?

Maybe it is about what an info product is? I've found travel guides, places to stay, places to visit, BEST OF, must see and all kinds of travel information...on even the smallest countries of the world.

Maps. Events. Even coloring books or puzzle books fall under info product umbrealla.

But if I knew a country didn't buy ebooks, I'd have to ask myself why I was pursuing it...especially after a couple of years.

Other than that, I have nothing to offer.

Default My two cents worth...

Hi Mike,

I think, at least when it comes to self-help type of stuff, most people buy similar stuff the world over...

They all have the same problems...
- romance / relationships / marriage
- money / debt / bad credit rating
- health / illness / pain

...and there are plenty of others...

By the way, I was curious to find info-products being sold online in Portgual (via "direct response" type methods)...

I did find this page, which I think originates from Brazil (where they also speak Portuguese), but according to Facebook, this was also advertised on Facebook this month to people in Portugal...

https://www.cursoapometria.com/curso...e-apometria-v5

This is the Google translation into English...
https://www-cursoapometria-com.trans..._x_tr_hl=en-GB

From what I can tell, this is some kind of course on apometry (which is apparently some kind of psychic therapy)...

The course seems to be a combination of pre-recorded plus live classes to answer questions...

Anyway, I thought it was interesting... (It wasn't easy for me to find, given that I don't speak Portuguese...)

Strictly speaking perhaps not from Portugal (as it's from Brazil), but they seemed to think it was worth also advertising in Portugal...

Tchau...
