Here is the Pictogrigm of Finances.

If you want a larger one, go to www.sowpub.com/gordon/financialpicto.gif and it will be a larger version for you to be able to read better.

It is in your own best interest to DO this in own writing, create your own Pictogrigm.

We will be adding to the Personal Pictogrigm you started in Lesson One. So get it out and be ready to write some more on it.

So let's go over the Pictogrigm of Finances.

In the top left you see the balance. On one side you see the sources of money.

On the other side you see the distribution. In between is a budget.

If you have more sources than distribution, you have accumulation. More distribution
than sources, you have debt.

Take a look at the distribution. You see TAXES. Then after taxes comes needs and wants.

Once these have been taken care of, you get disposable income.

In the middle of the page you see a Path of Finances. If you travel along the upper path you are in ABUNDANCE.

The lower path is NEED.

On the LEFT side is a list of sources. You see that WORK is at the top of most people’s list.

The majority ONLY know of this one source of income, and they feel trapped because of it.

But go down the list.

All of these are potential sources, but not for everyone. I worked two years under a Grant. But not everyone is going to grant hunting.

The object of this is to show the possibilities that exist.

I call your attention to the list and the word OWNERSHIP. Under that is business, and next to that is absentee/participatory. You see the JV, the fastest way to expanding income.

In the upper right hand corner, you see TOLLS. These are:

Royalty
Residual
Subscription
Syndication
Annuity
Compound

You also see the “formula” for increase, GIVE=GET. Or as we like to say here at sowpub…

Plant…harvest.

Now get out your personal Pictogrigm. Write under you today, your yearly income. For the sake of this example, I’ll use the American averages.

The average wage earner in the US makes 26 thousand dollars a year.

Make 5 marks on your life line to the left of where you are today. These represent the last 5 years…write in your yearly income.

Now make 5 marks to the RIGHT, into your future.

If you simply continue on, and make no changes, and barring accident or injury…what will you earn in the next 5 years?

Write this DOWN. Write it below the lifeline.

Above the lifeline, write down what you would LIKE TO EARN.

So, now you have a clear picture of where you are FINANCIALLY.

And also a picture of where you will be if you continue the same ACTIVITY you have for the last 5 years, right?

So, with that in mind, are you going to be happy with your outcomes for the next 5 years?

OK, now the floor is open for questions.

Tomorrow, I’ll post the PHYSICAL PICTOGRIGM…which represents your body and it’s relationship to the Earth.
