Chuck, not to rain on your parade but have you checked with the prison officials about this? Reason I ask is a religious group wanted to do pretty much the same thing and they nixed it saying that all books must come directly from the publishers because it would be too easy to smuggle in contraband otherwise so you might want to check it out.
I think you're on the right track, at least about some of the inmates. Some are just plain incorrigible but others know they made a mistake and want nothing more than to set things right. Without help I understand it's really tough. It's in all our best interests to encourage the best in people. Keep up the good work, Chuck.
