Hi Sowpubers!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Clayton Makepeace is one of today’s most successful copywriters who also gives great advertising and marketing advice through his free newsletters and paid newsletters.

This interview with Joe Sugarman is mostly about copywriting. But Joe also begins this one hour interview with about 20 minutes of his personal story (very fascinating!) Then he gets right in to it by covering topics like how he chooses which product to promote, some foundational methods he uses to create his copy, and he even covers (just a little bit) his 30 psychological triggers.

Right around the 32:53 minute/second marker Joe leaves a few little nuggets of knowledge in respect to where and how to select products to market.

It’s also cool to know that Joe uses the John E. Kennedy/Claude Hopkins model of direct response marketing to make his millions.

On a side note, I just finished reading The Mirror Makers: A History of American Advertising and Its Creators. One huge take-away from that book I got was, that no matter whatever else type of advertising is working best at the moment, reason-why direct response marketing will always make sales. It may not be the most popular at the time, maybe not the most profitable, but it will always work. Why? Because you test, measure results, adjust your copy, and continue to make or increase sales.

Ready, Fire, Aim!
