So it is my conclusion that men aren't really better than women at math - at least from ability point of view. But they become better because of this expectation that many people have that men are better at math.
I think I remember reading once that there was much less gender discrepancy in math in Russia (or was it the USSR)? I could be confusing it with something else, though...
I came across an interesting article. Apparently in many countries, there is generally equal achievement in math among boys and girls... Also, among some groups and in some countries, school girls are actually a little better at math than boys according to the statistics...

I don't know the "ansewr", but... I do think it's very hard to separate "nature" vs. "nurture"!
