These goats are probably fine as pets, if properly taken care of and properly confined and protected. Probably not so good as an investment.
Back during the Emu craze (http://articles.latimes.com/1997/dec/16/news/mn-64567) that was primarily in Texas, but spilled over into my town, people lost everything betting on them.
There was even an Emu Burger joint that stayed open for almost a month. I tried one, like a lot of people. Wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about.
Some people tried to sell Emu Oil, which must have been a bear to collect. Supposed to be good for aches and pains.
I flew a guy around so he could locate his lost $5,000 bird. Never saw it.
Those goats do look tasty though. Kind of a spendy meal.
