Any success stories with buying traffic?

Hello to Everyone.

I think I've reached the end of my rope with free traffic-generating
strategies. :-)

So, I'm considering buying traffic. I'm thinking this is analogous to
using an ad broker in the offline world. Am I wrong here?

Has anyone here had any success with this approach?

I've looked at QualityTrafficSupply.com (I'm not affiliated) and they
seem legit. Their prices sure fit my budget (starting at $30).

What's the real story on buying hits through pop-unders and banner
impressions?

I'll do the research if someone would, please, kindly point me in the
right direction.

Thanks. -- Thomas

Here's how the scam works...

Thomas,

Thanks for asking about Traffic For Sale.

Here's how it works...

Company A sells Traffic - guaranteed hits, or some such - to people who want more traffic.

Company A then offers other people the opportunity to Read Emails And Get Paid every time they click a link.

So when you hand over your money your website address gets sent out in an email to the team of Clickers. They read the email and click the link, end up at your site long enough to register a Hit, then they are on to the next link.

You get your traffic. But it's worthless.

Here's a way to get "Targeted Traffic"!

Put together a "HotSheet" or small Report that is an "Intro" or "Preview" of your main program.....and sell it for $2 or more. The buyers of this have shown their interest by paying for the info.

I learned this many years ago when I ran ads in national magazines. Instead of "going for the jugular" on the initial pitch....I used the "TugBoat" technique by reeling them in slowly.

My ad would tell them to "Call My Recorded Message" (which was NOT a free "800 number".

The recording was "non-intimidating" and they could get more info on a topic that interested them. The 2 min recording gave benefits to my program and if they were interested in having More Info mailed to them, they could leave their name and mailing address "at the sound of the beep}.

I then sent them a 4-page sales letter which was to sell my "Preview Video" for a "Refundable Deposit of $20".

This further "qualified" them and "reeled them in closer.

The "Preview Video" explained my BIG Program and how they could benefit by "spending the BIG bucks" for it.

So...1) prospects spent their own money making the Intro call to hear the recording...2) they sent me $20 for the "Preview Video". This meant my Preview Video was going to Highly Qualified prospects.

I sold a LOT of my biz programs for $495 to $2,995 using this "system".

Nowadays...I'd put together a "Preview Report" and sell it for a few bucks. One program I'm working on, I'll be selling the Preview Report for $20 which then sells the main program for $497.

I'll be selling the Preview Report on ebay and other areas...even offering to do a Joint Venture with promoter people who have Huge Lists of active names. We split the $20 and I get the "back-end".

Find someone who is selling something Similar to your program and ask them if they'd be interested in a JV on your "Preview Report". You get the "back-end".

Any of these "Traffic" programs is just as if you were standing on a busy street corner in a big city, holding up a copy of your program and "Hawking" it's benefits. You'd be seen by thousands of people and "maybe" get 1 or 2 to stop and show any interest.

Heads Up Don..

As long as your "Preview" is hard-copy, then you're okay on Ebay. If it's NOT, then you must now advertise in the Ebay Classifieds section. ($9.95 a month)

As far as your other information "...ask them if they'd be interested in a JV on your "Preview Report". You get the "back-end"."

You gotta be kidding! You're not going to find many marketers willing to JV 50/50 on a $20 preview product, then sit by while you enjoy 100% of a $497 back-end!

You might get a few newbies to bite, but any marketer worth his salt will tell you and your "all mine" back-end to take a hike.

Hey! It's ALL in the "negotiation"!

Some people can "negotiate" better than others. Granted, I'll probably have to pay a "commission" on the back-end....IF....I was only offering a "back-end". However, there are "other" reasons-why people with "Lists" of prospects who have proven to have interests similar to prospects I am aiming at....would want to JV with me.

Pete,

Here's a good video explanation of the recent eBay ebook or downloadable products policy changes and one way to work around it using eBay Classified Ads:

Re: Any success stories with buying traffic?

Thanks for asking Thomas.

Stay away from popunders and popup exits.

Banner impressions - many of them are good.

But before trying all of them, I would recommend you try out Google Adwords.

Google Adwords allows you to pay-per-impressions on various websites. They charge as little as 25 cents for 1000 impressions for many of the websites. So try working with that first before you try other ad systems.

Why start with google? Because their quality control is pretty good. They are pretty strict with click fraud and fake visitors.

So start with Google. Find out your Return on Investment. (by calculating the number of sales due to Google ads Minus your ad expense on Google.)

Then experiment with other ad services. If these services beat Google's ROI - stick with them. Or else move on.

I don't know everything, however, it is possible that Don Alm is speaking of teaming up with the great Jimmy D. Brown.
taking a look at the bottom of of Dons Midas reports site, I noticed Dons new legal info.

It is a direct copy of several of Jimmy D Browns sites. It also includes
Benchmark Publishing LLC. This is a moniker of Jimmys.
Could the Don and Jimmy D. Brown be teaming up ???????
