Elderly and Internet Demographics
Thanks for the heads-up Gordon!
I will have to look at Works myself. I have noticed it on my computer but have never taken the time to investigate its value. BTW, I recently read that the elderly are the fastest growing segment of society surfing the net. The primary reason given was idle time spent at home was more than any other demographic. The elderly used the net more for: 1) emailing family/friends; 2) information gathering on pertinent issues. |
Re: Elderly and Internet Demographics
I bought my Mom a computer way back in the good ole days because I wanted her to have a challenge. I wanted something that would engage her, and help keep her mind from atrophying (sp) after she retired.
Mind you, what you got when you booted the thing was this: C:> It worked. She was just stubborn enough to hate asking anybody how, and she was fascinated enough with it that she'd made friends across the country once she got the hang of it. I became "backup support" to the family. They started calling her first. "It's comp'ny," she said. Mary |
