Please read !!!
Thank you Gordon!
You have hit the nail on the head, and hopefully hit it hard enough to drive the point home for this person.
This is what's standing in their way:
"Very difficult to do with intelligent people. They KNOW, they can REASON, but they could have huge feelings of inadequacy...maybe even so much lack of self-worth, they may be sabatoging the process."
I myself am not one to get tough with a person, especially when they're down, for fear of making the situation worse. But this person respects YOU and your views Gordon... probably more than mine because of my close association with them.
This person KNOWS how to get out of the rut. They repeat it to me time and time again "I know all this stuff on an intellectual level" but then that "BUT" word gets thrown in there.
"Friend", I know you're gonna read this, you've been following this thread since I told you about my original post. So PLEASE allow some of the advice and insight given here to break through between the intellectual and emotional barrier.
You are so close to tremendous success that it is killing me to see you not reach out and grab it. You are associated with powerful, influential people who can rapidly bring you over this hump. Success is RIGHT THERE!!!! GRAB IT!!! These opportunities may never present themselves again and you'll be kicking yourself if you don't.
(forgive me if I leave anyone out) Richard, Dien, Sandy, Mike, and now Gordon have all outlined things in their posts that YOU ALREADY KNOW.
I apologize if this post seems abrasive but sometimes I feel like kicking your BUT's out of the way myself ;-)
Jeez, my friend will probably not talk to me for a while now. Their happiness is all I'm interested in though. I'd rather see them happy at a distance, than perpetuate their slumber by simply saying "It's gonna be ok".
