Stickiness or make the customer happy?

Hi,

Maybe I accidentally did something right with trickreport.com.

What I mean is I'm doing the same thing as google.com in a way. I offer absolutely no stickiness, I've just tried to make it easy for visitors to find what they want and then leave. Time magazine said this about Google: "The whole point of Google is to get you on and off the site as fast as possible."

This isn't a disguised ad for our site, just an observation that a happy site visitor is likely to return. I bet a lot of visitors return to Sowpub for this very reason.

That's great, Trick Report is a great resource! I've been checking it out regularly.... :)

I agree, "stickiness" is one model, but not the only one. Yahoo I think was already profitable when they were just a directory, and that was the same idea, no stickiness whatsoever. Yet, if it's a great resource, people came back over and over, even though Yahoo sent them on their merry way soon after.

I'm still learning, testing, experimenting, tweaking, honing, and all that stuff, but I think one important thing to do is to try to offer a UNIQUE resource, based on a WIN/WIN/WIN philosophy. And Trick Report certainly does that. :)

****I actually "hang out" at trick report while I check out the top sites and posts, etc. It is one site I go to almost daily....sort of like Sow Pub!
