![]() Hi all
I have been "lurking" for a while enjoying all the postings and gems of wisdom that are contributed. I would welcome any ideas/feedback about a service I am setting up moneyandhappiness.com. Essentially it is targetting small business and home business providing information and recommendations on tools to help their business grow by using the Internet cheaply and effectively. (I also throw in some fun things like the Honest Lotto System - please this is not meant to be an advertisement!). I know there are many sites operating that do similar, but what I have been doing is purchasing and trialling all the products/services and those that I genuinely believe deliver what is promised, I recommend. It certainly has some up-front costs for me, but as my operating business is Ethicalbiz, I want to live up to it's name. Any comments on the "business model", niche etc. Or do you think it is already a swamped market? many thanks Michael |

![]() Hi Michael,
I don't believe there is any such thing as a swamped market. Take cola drinks. Who could compete against Coke? Well Pepsi can. And so can a thousand other smaller brands who have carved a niche for themselves. Operating in a market doesn't mean you have to dominate it. There is often plently of money to be made from around the edges. The more you can make your part of the market unique, the better you will do. Unless everybody is suffering from a group delusion, the existence of plenty of competitors just means that there is a ready and willing pool of customers. Make what you offer attractive enough and the fish will bite. Good luck, Martin BizE-zine: Success strategies that really work. |

![]() I had not thought about the "Unless everybody is suffering from a group delusion, the existence of plenty of competitors just means that there is a ready and willing pool of customers".
Unique is what I am aiming for, for example I offer a quick free personalised strategy which suggests free products to help the "newbies" find what works for them, before they invest in the more powerful tools needed. Hopefully I will be able to continue this, a sign of success will be when I struggle to keep up with the free service. Not to worry, I'll bring someone else on board. Thanks again. |
