Default Re: 'Last lecture' professor dies of cancer... Definitely inspirational...

Michael and Rod,

Sorry for your losses and Thanks for sharing your experiences...

So many Unfortunately have experienced Cancer and other terrible illnesses in some way so hopefully we can all learn a little by sharing...

As mentioned early Detection is the key with Caution on the precedures...

Lost a Great friend because doctors decided to make a small incision in his throat...

Unfortunately it was the wrong decision as his Cancer went through like wild-fire and he passed away extremely quickly...

Regarding brain tumors, again early detection, so Rod I'll keep Positive thoughts going your way for your mom...

I hope you get Good news only...

About 15 years back my mom started acting very differently from her very active and usual self. Doctors kept insisting it was dimentia/alzheimer related and kept ignoring future testing etc. Finally after over 2 years passed a recommendation to an eye specialist revealed a Brain tumor the size of an Orange. She was admitted into the hospital very quickly for surgery and thankfully the tumor wasn't cancerous But those 2 years of the tumor pressing against the nerve of the eye caused her blindness in that eye and therefore was left legally blind...

She managed quite well over the years But along the way some doctor decided to take her off of her medication that she was taking to help prevent seizures due to the brain tumor. I guess the doctor felt it was the right decision and my mom always felt she knew better. Shortly after she started having seizures again and was hospitalized a few times because of it...

On her last episode of seizures in 2005 she was Diagnosed with...

And passed away before she had a chance to get into a long term care facilty for Cancer patients...

But she passed away almost to the day of my parents Anniversary date, although my dad had passed away a few years back...

I knew he was calling for her and made the exact prediction...

Life is full of Mysteries...

Live Life to the Fullest and Treat each day like it's your last...
