Once you understand your copy is the STIMULUS, a way to get ONE person interested enough to DO something, then you start at the end, the result, or the intent of the copy.

I agree, you're so right!

When I start to write a piece of persuasive writing, the first question I ask is... What do I want the reader to DO?

Do I want them to click on a link? To give me their email address? To add their name to something? To send me money (in return for a product or service)?

You don't know what to write until you know what you want them to do!

And you're right... This is one key thing that makes persuasive writing very different from, for example, writing a great piece of literature... A great piece of literature may be great to read - but it won't get people to pull out their credit cards and send money!
