Default FOUR Lists...many secrets.

FOUR lists:

ONE: Roy Garn... the Fatal Four from MAGIC POWER OF EMOTIONAL APPEAL

Money.
Romance/Sex.
Self-preservation.
RECOGNITION.

TWO: Drew Eric Whitman... CA$HVERTISING the Life-Force 8

1. Survival, enjoyment of life, life extension.
2. Enjoyment of food and beverages.
3. Freedom from fear, pain, and danger.
4. Sexual companionship.
5. Comfortable living conditions.
6. To be superior, winning, keeping up with the Joneses.
7. Care and protection of loved ones.
8. Social approval.

THREE. Robert Cialdini... INFLUENCE, the Six (7) Weapons of Influence

Liking.
Authority.
Commitment and Consistency.
Scarcity.
Reciprocity.
Social Proof.

And UNITY, added in his follow-up book PRE-SUASION

FOUR. Blair Warren... FORBIDDEN KEYS, turned into his one sentence on persuasion.

People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions and help them throw rocks at their enemies. Again, ala list:

Encourage their dreams. You can do it, I believe in you.
Justify their failures. Not your fault, here is why.
Allay their fears. ME too scared, the THIS will help.
Confirm suspicions. Yes, it is true, you were right to think that.
Throw rocks at enemies. Instant rapport is had with a common enemy, find one or CREATE one.

And also from Blair Warren: What HOLDS attention...determines action.

OK. All the influence and persuasion knowledge you need to get what you want from other people.

Now Use a tool, known as the PictoGrigm of Persuasion, seen here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/joeqrh5y1w...81%29.JPG?dl=0

All of the above from the lists, would go into the Pyramid above the TARGET'S head, on the right side, the person inside their own bubble of PREOCCUPATION.

YOUR job, as a marketer/salesperson/influencer//persuader, is to crash their bubble, get and HOLD attention, until they do what you want them to.

Using the four lists above give you a clearer idea of how to do this.

Or you could spend 20 years reading all the books, and learning on your own.

If you have specific case uses, I'll give it my best shot to answer.

Gordon

P.S. If there is anyone reading, who would like to "professionalize" the POP, make it either interactive or just a fill in the blanks document, and want to polish it up...I'll write a hotsheet report and you can sell them via a jv, let me know [email protected]

A Lotto Tipping Story that MIGHT encompass all 4.

At a Fancy Italian Restaurant.

Young Guy Waiter Comes over.

I Thank Reward him with a Lotto ticket BEFORE he can say a Word. Ask, "How many cooks in the Kitchen? I'd like to TIP them too. They never Get Tipped."

His Next Visit. I ask, "Which do You want as a Tip? $1 Or Lotto?

Next visit - Which do you want? A Paper rose or Lotto?

Next Visit - Which will it be? An LED Lite or a Lotto ticket.

RESULTS?

***Money - He Gifted me 21.00 of Free Food. Added up the bill in MY Favor too.

***Romance/Sex - He tells me he has been PLYING A Young Waitress with MY
Lotto tickets in order to get a Date.

***Self Preservation - I am Allergic to Durham Wheat flour, Tomatoes, Egg Plant,
The Chemicals in Beef. So I get Side Dishes. Veggie side dishes are TINY.

But NOT when I Lotto tip the Waiter! I get huge Plates full of Veggies.

***Recognition - Whenever I Go to This Restaurant. Waiters WAVE. Waitresses
Come over to Chat. The manager says "Hello." People at nearby Tables TALK
Like we are old Friends. As They Watch All The Staff BUZZ around my Table and
my Guests.

I TELL them the TRUTH. I am allergic to the ENTIRE MENU except for Tiny Veggie side Dishes.

So to NOT STARVE I Bribe the Waiters and the cooks.

Animated Conversations with other GUESTS result.

Thanks,
Glenn

Default It's a new dawn for the "SOLOPRENEUR"...

Hi Gordon,

This is one powerful post!

I think one reason why it is more important than ever NOW is...

I think we are entering a new era...

Over time, becoming a "solopreneur" is becoming easier and easier...

First, we had personal computers... Desktop publishing!

Suddenly, everyone could be their own publisher, without leaving their kitchen table...

Then, we had the internet... Instant communication and distribution!

It was a revolution...

Social media added a new dimension to this... Which meant "virality" could happen faster and easier...

Now... Artificial Intelligence...

What this means, in my mind, is everyone can have a "robot" virtual assistant to do a lot of those "mindless" tasks...

I don't think those with highly specific PEOPLE-related skills will be replaced... But the mundane stuff... That can now be "outsourced" to A.I...

But that makes it even easier to be a "solopreneur"...

And that's why your post is so important RIGHT NOW...

We are at another new dawn... Which will be great for those who want to be "solopreneurs"...!

And people need to TAKE HEED at what you're sharing!

Best wishes,

Dien

Default The stereogram of Gordonesque stuff...it is as problem for many.

Thanks Dien.

It is in the use, the application of KNOWLEDGE where its true value is found. A stereogram (I know YOU know, but for others) is one of those pictures you have to stare at to see what is behind the patterns. Some people are never able to see it.

The lists need context and use.

For me, selling and copywriting hasn't produced anything better than the Elmer Wheeler "points" made known in his work on Tested Sentences that Sell. But that is because they were the first lists which I was exposed to, as noted in the Spiders, Snakes and Mice story.

The Blair Warren one sentence persuasion is pure Gold/Platinum IF, one has the foundation of knowledge on which it is built. Take the blame others part.

Just today, Alen Sultanic sent an email and posted about what he calls "negative admittance", I love Alen and how he uses his own words for all the old selling stuff...anyhow, at its root is giving the prospect an escape clause for being responsible for: being fat, alone, out of shape, poor, or whatever the product addresses.

It is not your fault is seen in Blair's "justify their failures"...see, it is all right there, but without depth. One has to see behind these 3 words, as Sultanic does and it is worth a book, or 101 of them.

If a marketer just learns this one thing, letting people off the hook of responsibility, they can build a huge following and make a ton of dough.

So, over the years, I have been called cryptic and obscure and even arcane and that has been justified...and I do it purposefully...mainly because I know it is better to give a map to the hidden treasure rather than hand the treasure directly to them.

It separates the motivated from the dreamer.

At the very foundation of all transactions, the square one of making money, influence, power and success is...

it can't be a square occupied by only one (self). There must be at least two there.

Even in the virtual world, if a Guru yells at his computer screen when it is off, do his minions still send him money? (Maybe?!?)

Anyhow, these lists only have value to the person who wants to put them to use.

And the POP (PictoGrigm of Persuasion) is one very easy way to get a visual representation of the process.

It (marketing, making money, influence, persuasion) pretty much comes down to the ROCK used in the POP, what and how to break PREOCCUPATION and how to HOLD attention once that is done.

Any exits along the way, have already been identified, over 20 years ago, on the POA, PictoGrigm of Accomplishment.

See?

Gordon

Default Re: FOUR Lists...many secrets.

Looking at these posts reminds me of an archivist that might be helpful to some folks. His name is Lawrence Bernstein.

His site is:

www.admoneymachine.com

I have to admit, some of the greatest ads I've ever seen are in his collection.

Would be worth looking into... however, the full collection is pricey. BTW, getting on his email list gives you plenty of examples to study.

Default He is great.

Thanks Millard. Thank goodness I was collecting ads before Lawrence came around, we wrote about him years ago...and here is the link to the Harvey Brody report, I know that Harvey has spoken with Lawrence...who by the way will take on clients, but he isn't low cost. Anyhow,

http://infomarketingblog.com/images/...ion_Report.pdf

We removed this, but Lawrence put it up at his old (archived) place.

Michael Senoff also had a collection of ads which was great.

When Dien was trying to persuade me to start SowPub with him, he and the Net Guerrilla, Rick Smith saw my boxes and boxes of ads that went all the way back to the Civil War.

The greatest collection I ever saw was what Ben Suarez had...millions of dollars worth of ads to look at, learn from and get the best ideas one can find.

One thing to keep in mind, TIMING of these ads along with where they ran.

Some of the best ads flopped big in the wrong media, so that was important too.

When Dien was visiting Green Tree Press, he saw the collection of Bud Weckesser ads we were putting together for a product, it is the one thing I wish they would have done...Bud was as good as it gets...loved his ads.

Thanks Millard,

Gordon
