Default RED & BLUE Stansberry scare, that time of the year.

Loves me some Stansberry scare.

This year, he has the RED OCTOBER scare for investors, and the BLUE WAVE, the socialists are coming scare for investors.

Great copywriting techniques, especially knowing your market. And their FEARS.

Fan the flames of fears, line your pockets with moolah. It is a tried and tested technique, and you can't go wrong with long storage food items (my usual retort to Stansberry, cause you can't eat gold or SILVER, this year's darling).

FEAR. It elected a president. And it could make you rich too.

Gordon

PS. Many people have just ONE problem, a lack of money.

There are 7 Solutions to this problem. The now: borrow, sell, advances...the future; business, investments and planning and a lifetime; savings.

If you have the ONE problem, now you have 7 solutions.

OK, public discussions please?

Here at SowPub, lack of money is not as common, as say, the Warrior Forum, where it seems everyone in the world is broke (except those selling WSO)

But still...

No money or not enough of it is BIG problem.

The 7 solutions, a look, quickly at each one.

BORROW. NOT the best route, but on occasion in a pinch, sometimes it gets you through a crisis. Family and friends come in, and lenders, who want collateral also.

SELL STUFF. Better way for quick cash, sell something, your car, or TV, or the neighbor's curb throwaways.

We've talked a ton about selling, and fleamarketflipper has some good examples of stuff to find to sell.

ADVANCES. Sometimes, your work, especially if a contractor, will give you some quick cash. It is not unusual for a contractor to get a % of the job up front, before any work is done. Some bosses might consider this, or some marketers may advance a payment, as to a copywriter, some of whom get the full amount up front. Gary Halbert used to get $15,000.00 up front before he did anything.

Good if you were Gary, not so good if you gave him the advance and got nothing for it, eh?

BUSINESSES. Yes, of course. INVESTMENTS. Yes.

WORK. NEED more details.

And SAVINGS.

Businesses. You can start one from home with nothing more than a post at a forum, OPEN FOR BUSINESS. We see this everyday with the copywriters, content writers, SEO experts, web builders, designers, editors, graphics or anyone with a skill.

Easy to start. But it does require some i's dotted and t's crossed, as in obeying local laws about permits, TAXES and signage.

WORK. Isn't that what we want to avoid? NOT if you want to get out of the dire straights and into smoother sailing. Work is not a dirty word. You don't get paid for doing nothing.

Savings. Also, not for the pennyless.

So, of the 7 solutions, it looks like

SELLING SOMETHING Your TV
DOING SOMETHING Clean headlights.
STARTING SOMETHING A business, service or product.

I'll answer questions as they are posted, otherwise, here are the 7 solutions for not enough money.

But, it could be as simple as a kit of soap, and PRESTO, you're in the AMWAY, MLM, NETWORK marketing business. Fortunes have been made. NOT a quick cash method, however.

ABSENTEE OWNED, WELL not for you with not enough money, so skip that one for now.

Service business, where you DO something (scoop up the dog poo) or
PRODUCT business, where you sell something. Reports are that Internet Marketing/eCom has taken over for mlm when it comes to the most started (and quit) businesses today.

INVESTMENTS. Also, NOT for you of the strapped for cash crowd, unless you invest your time into education.

As you say, there are certain things you can sell in advance, before you even "create" the "product"...

A live seminar is one such thing. You can get people to pay ahead of time, before you put on the event. If there isn't enough interest, you cancel and give everyone their money back. It's low-risk, if you do it right!

You can do deals with venues. I once put on a commercial movie night. We paid the venue a cut of the takings. If we had canceled the screening, we would have owed the venue nothing...

I know quite a bit about investments. But as you mention, you usually have to have some money first to make it work. But if you have money, you can make more money.

That's where many people who earned a lot went wrong... (Like Gary Halbert.) They know how to make it, but they don't know how to invest it...

Best wishes!

Dien

The so-called CASH ADVANCES are well known predatory lending services, they make Uncle Guido and the Sopranos look like amateurs.

Anyhow, in marketing, there was a time when dry testing was the norm, that is, selling a product before it was made, to test sales, and if not enough were sold, then a refund was given. But guys like Halbert, who went to Federal Prison, were the ones who may have taken people's money and never delivered a product/service or gave a refund.

Today, I think guys like Glenn have a better TEST methodology to see if their creative babies will make it in the marketplace.

But still, millions are lost to scammers, Travelers who do roofing are notorious for this, that is, taking money down on a new roof, delivering a few shingles to the site, and then leave the area.

People do buy ADVANCES. I do like the workshop and seminar idea, and as I have tested the past few years, if one doesn't get too greedy and is looking for a nice cash flow, or a decent chunk of change for a Sat. morning, they could offer a nice 50 buck workshop to 6 people and know in ADVANCE IF THEY have to deliver.

A local promoter is offering tickets to events to be held this summer at the old Mall (Chapel Hill Mall), and these type promoters, as you pointed out, can offer advance sales. It is not uncommon at all, in fact, the SUPERBOWL tickets are often bought way in advance. That money, in this case, non refundable, could be used for months to collect interest.

What other types of advances can we think of?

Gordon

Good luck.

That's all I have to say about all cryptocurrency, blockchain investments, CBD or weed stocks, Forex, Day Trading or guessing the price of rice in China.

I say, it is your money, do as you want.

Anyone who likes risk, can find a lot to gamble their money on.

Unless it is French Onion I avoid all soup du jours. And being gout sensitive, no bottom feeders either; like lobster bisque, shrimp gumbo or clam chowder. But, to each his own.

Fads can certainly make people a lot of money.

Gordon

PS. High risk investments are NOT a solution to lack of money. They should be made once the lack has been remedied.

Ok I’ll add my 2 cents.

First, find a way to provide something of VALUE. Don’t try to scam, steal or cheat your way to more money.

On the Sell Something track: Go to Craigslist.org in the For Sale -> Free

Is there anything of value you could pick up and turn around and sell it to someone that needs it but can’t afford to buy it new?

My area had two flat screen TVs and a baby grand piano for free, not to mention couches and office furniture just this morning.

The people giving the stuff away were moving and needed to get rid of it fast [VALUE].

You could make someone a really good deal and still make a profit [VALUE again].

I bought a storage unit at an auction. I paid $225 for it and ended up making about $1600 profit. Everything I sold was a great deal for the buyer. Check out the storage auctions in your area. You don’t have to buy anything on the first trip, but you will be enlightened by the possibilities.

On the Provide a Service track: The headlight cleaning idea is a great one. You can use Bud’s system or there are literally dozens of YouTube videos on the subject. Companies are charging up to $80/pair of headlights.

To find out if this is a good service in your area… Go to the local supermarket or Walmart. Look at the headlights in the parking lot. How many are so bad that you can’t see the light bulb?

That oxidized headlight lens blocks light creating poor visibility for the driver. This a safety issue for the driver, passengers, other drivers, pedestrians, animals etc.

Every car with sun damaged headlights is a potential customer.

Be a headlight cleaner and make the world a safer place [VALUE].

If you have a truck you could start a delivery service.[VALUE]

If you’re handy with tools you could start an assembly service. Many people would prefer having someone else put together the furniture they just bought on Amazon. [VALUE]

Before you start any kind of activity to make extra money make sure you have an EXIT PLAN!

It could be a certain amount of money in savings or it could be getting a certain bill paid off or it could be the new car you’ve always wanted. Just make a plan or set a goal

That way, if you start doing something and absolutely hate it you have a way to end it.

You might end up loving what you’re doing and that would be excellent, but having an exit plan is still a great idea.

Thanks Gregg,

One exit plan, for those who pursue cash NOW methods, is to build a business to operate, or one in which you can be an absentee owner, or one to sell.

Solutions for LACK of money, if not leveraged, may create other problems. An example I've shared.

Guy starts chatteling, finds profits in used restaurant equipment, starts flipping seriously, makes some bux...wife wants to spend for Holidays...

He did have to compromise, but now, a couple of years later, has a full time business, employs his nephew as a helper, and is making a really good living.

But, he doesn't want to be moving big pizza ovens for ever, so he is looking at his exit strategy...one way may be to let the nephew take over, with a helper, and be an absentee owner.

The VALUE he has in the business is really in his NETWORK, which took him a couple of years to build up, and I advise him to hold that asset, while finding a way to make it work for him. Maybe as a middleman. Or as a consultant, or maybe he starts a business, seems to be a pizza shop would be good, since he has all kinds of equipment available.

He could surely be an absentee owner.
He could start to teach others about his chatteling experience, ala the fleamarketflipper dot com family, who now operate their own university.

Because he is already moving stuff, I suggested your idea of assembly, they could pick it up at a store, assemble in truck and deliver. They do that now with big stuff, so smaller home items, UPSCALE areas, would work great.

I'm glad you mentioned the EXIT plan, because just making money like that, could get to be a grind too, and the idea of savings goes a long way, but I might suggest saving the TITHE or 10% to reinvest in a business.

No rights or wrongs, but no reasons either to be stuck in the quagmire of lack of money. Right?

So, EXIT on the next floor up...and let your moolah make your moolah.
