Default Booked solid. Two words I've come to hate.

There was a time when I was thrilled to be booked solid, it meant the money was pouring in. And today, many, MANY people are trying to get booked solid, even my daughter the trainer.

But a long time ago, in the world of golf, I came to HATE being so popular because it meant my TIME was tied up, accounted for, and couldn't be used to do anything else.

That is when I discovered the GROUP sessions, which meant I could book 6 to 8 people in the same hour. SWEET. Then, I discovered AUDIO and recorded a few of the key ideas, and found out that my TIME was freed up, while the income increased.

Today, the concept gives me the shakes. The idea of spending my time, no matter how lucrative, or how much it made, just makes me sick to my stomach.

Which is why the WEBINAR and video, do it once and sell it for a long time, is so appealing...it is almost a good TOLL POSITION.

I know of 100,000 people (via various Facebook groups) that would love to get booked solid, in fact they spend a lot of money learning how, and pay other people to help them fill up their time by spending it on other people.

Coaches, therapists, even consultants at times, get an emotional reward from feeling they have done good for someone. That's great.

But if you are still young, wet behind the ears, in business...I encourage you to think of better ways than spending your time, consider setting up, gaining or creating some Toll Positions where you can leverage your time into ongoing financial rewards, nothing beats sitting in the boat, fishing...while your PayPal account gets filled up.

NOW that is a good way to have your time BOOKED SOLID.

Gordon,

I like your thinking along this line. I've been looking into Facebook LIVE and GotoMeeting as platforms to do some things.

I already have a lot of audio files about my performing career and have been testing the waters. The one thing I am trying to do is find alternative pay sites or venues to sell my stuff. I got burned on Ebay a few times as well as had PayPal take funds from me after I had delivered a product (consulting by phone) to a client.

Any sales I have made lately are paid via snail mail and postal money orders... Yeah, yeah, I know it cuts sales but I'd rather develop a relationship over time and get paid rather than make a few sales here and there.

What I do is get a consulting client and then add some audio files as a bonus.

Default I loves me some cash and Money Orders.

Millard, I like it. When I sold the original version of the THE CHATTEL REPORT: THE SPRINT TO FREEDOM, I only accepted USPS money orders. And I was sending out 8, 10, 17 a day. Today, with some of the cash gifting programs I am in, and in spite of all the bad news about the USPS, we are seeing hundreds of dollars in cash coming in through the mails.

I recall Bud Riggs used a device on his phone to take credit cards from people who wanted their headlights cleaned, can't remember which one, it is in the report (I'll have to find it and read it)...and the charges were about the same as if he had a merchant account. I have done a lot of CHATTELING with people and ask them to use FACEBOOK messenger, which goes right into my debit account.

I have a MasterClass account, and I like that model too; record, post and it lives on for years to come as an ON DEMAND product.

Sounds like a Master Class account would be the way to go.

How to I find out more about it or set one up?

www.masterclass.com is 15 a month (billed annually), I have NO idea how one would submit a suggestion for a class.

But there are other sites, like udemy, which can host your classes. I think of these as set it and forget it information vending machines.

Dear Gordon,
Warmest wishes to you, Millard and everyone here.
In addition to your highlighting “udemy,” there’s also these reputable teaching platforms you can select from, and listing a few for you to see how they resonate with your “teaching style” : (1) Skillshare; (2) Teachable; (3) Thinkific; (4) CreativeLive, by founder Chase Jarvis [photographer], and based in Seattle. Two-cents sharing with you.
Aloha, nanci nicole
