Default Floridian Gets Naked With Gordon

Gordon this is a naked and public attempt at working with you on a venture.

I post it here so others can chime in, scold or
otherwise take full advantage of this situation. And could serve as live model of how people can put jv's together along with problems and issues that might come up.

Theme:
Local Man Helps Others Flush Enron Out Of Their System

I have come across special toilet paper printed with ticker tape of really, really bad stocks.

I thought it might a good novelty item that news might pick up on along the lines of a stress relief item for burned by Enron or other bad stock deals or layed off that kind of thing.

Thinking about giving away free to anyone who asks for it. I want to add some juice to this.

Maybe giving away additional free reports that deal with helping people find jobs or becoming better investors.

I recall you have expertise in the area of jobs. You have any free reports I can add to this campaign to juice up this thing. So I can say
you know get this novelty item and these free reports to help get over your stress that kind of thing.

Also others that have free reports that make sense with this theme I would consider adding to
the press campaign.

That we all get free leads for whatever back end stuff we have.

Gordon, could you see this as winning strategy for you?

This sounds like an interesting novelty product! :)

I don't mean to "rain on your parade" but I think it may be hard to sell things to people who just got laid off of work, because they're figuring how to make ends meet.

Unless you're selling them a new job. Is that what your idea was?

However, the novelty toilet paper sounds like an interesting product.

I bet some people would love to get a monthly newsletter on new, wacky novelty products. (I know I would!)

It could be modeled on the "What's New" section of "Popular Science" magazine, but be about all the wacky stuff out there, as opposed to the high-tech stuff "Popular Science" writes about.

Your back end would be that they could order the products directly from you. I personally think this could be a winning model....

If it was a print newsletter, I would charge a subscription to cover my costs (and maybe make some profit on that too). I think people who like novelty products must constitute a niche market, so if you focus on building a list and selling your customers what they want, you could do well. :)

The way I see it, you could profit 3 ways:
  • Subscriptions
  • Sell ad space
  • Sell the novelty products you write about directly to your subscribers

Default Good Points Plus

Good points Dien. I did not take this idea to
that level. I am sure there are some mailorder
firms geared in that area. I think one is Lakeside.

I just know I have lost a job or three and all of a sudden I got real motivated to get an edge on how to find a new job and bought a book or two.

Also people that are employed start thinking
about what skills they may need to find a job
if it happens to them.

I think Gordon mentioned that people in
the HR field do good business during layoffs
and since he has expertise I thought he might
have a product to promote around this area.
