Default Article Submiting

Hi,
I got great help from Ankesh on setting up blogging. Now I need help with submitting articles. I have been to stumbleupon and digg but not reall sure how to use them. I was trying to submit an article on sociamarker.com but I am lost. My article has to be posted at a URL. Does that mean I have to post it on my blog first and then submit it to socialmarker.com?

Can someone help me with this process?
Thank You!

Thanks for asking Christi.

Submiting articles and social media marketing are 2 different things.

1. Submitting Articles

You write a new article. Then you approach other websites and ask them to publish your article with a link back to your website.

i. You can approach other blogs in your industry to publish your article
ii. You can approach a newsletter publisher and ask him to run your article
iii. You can visit websites like ezinearticles.com and submit your article over there

EzineArticles.com is by far the best general article submission website. There are hundreds of other article directories out there but only 3-4 are good. Others are junk.

You can look into submiting your article to offline magazines, newsletters and trade journals too.

2 Social Media Marketing

This is promoting your website via sites like digg.com. Every site has its own strategy that you should use. I would recommend against using sites like socialmarker.

There are some common factors though: on all networks and social sites, the more friends you have, the more popular your posts and articles will get.

So focus on making more friends on those websites. Select one website for a month. Make friends. Vote for their websites. So that they'll reciprocate and vote for yours.

Then next month, move onto another social marketing website.

(I personally outsource most of the social marketing for my websites because it is too time intensive.)

Here are some articles that may help you:

Besides them, also check out how you can create pages on squidoo.com and hubpages.com to promote your website.

Ankesh and Michael, thanks for the info, links, and so on. I had lost my original download of Article Submitter accidentally so the link was appreciated.

Default Building the Foundation of YOUR Business!

What is uppermost in a marketers mind? We want to make money but it
will take time. You cannot expect it to happen overnight. This is not a business that just happens, we still need to take time to get it organized and promote it. There is no reason to start a business online unless you dedicate yourself to it.

Find the niche you want to get in and educate yourself about it.
When we build a house we start with the foundation and article
writing is a way to start your foundation in marketing. If you
learn how to promote and do it daily you will be successful.

Article writing when you start may seem like a very slow way
to build your business. If you talk to the people that have been
in the business they will tell you this is the way to get the back
links to your site. articles will stay on the sites you promote
them to for a long time. When other people that do not want to
write or do not have the time will go to these article sites and
borrow others.

If you have made your article very informative it will travel to other peoples’
sites, bringing yet again more people. This is also a great learning experience
for you, finding places to send your articles to with the niche that you are
writing about will secure your audience for your program.

Read everything you can get your hands on you will get the
perspective of others and learn from them. Everyone sets out to
promote different ways and if you will listen to others you will
be able to learn what works for them and share with them what
Works for you. Take care of others and you will eventually
take care of yourself.

Go to article sites, google it, after you find it read other peoples
articles and find out what it takes to put in an article. Check out
their guidelines and when you send in your article some of the
sites will critique it to their specifications before they will accept it.
Take the criticism and make your revisions and proceed on, this
is learning at its best.

Others will accept your article but please remember make your
article informative so you will give your audience a great place
to start learning. Enjoy the art form that you are using, it is
another way to express yourself making pictures with words
instead of brush and paint.

Default About your surf-by-article...

Diana,

Thanks for contributing.

This thing you posted was an Article, wasn't it? Something you had already pre-written elsewhere and simply pasted into this Discussion board, right?

Participate by all means. But at least make it Personal. At least answer the question asked instead of surf-by-article-posting, fair enough?

And on an unrelated note... I personally find your Lady Di moniker rather bad taste. There is One "Lady Di" and she died in a car crash in Paris. Enough Said.

Thank you SOOO much guys! All of this info helps alot.

MichaelRoss, Thanks for your input but since I am just learning all this, I am not clear why so harsh . I never so the "article" before so it helps me since I am new. Is that a bad thing for her to post something that someone may have not seen yet? If it answers the question at hand?

Thanks again!
Christi

Default Here's why...

Christi,

Thanks for asking for clarification.

This is a Discussion Board. A place where people can come and Discuss things - in text.

It is NOT an Article repository or article submitting place. And allowing such detracts from the value of the Personal answers you get to questions.

Look at Ankesh's reply to you. It specifically answered your question. And did it well.

On the other hand, whether you know the information or not, the article which was posted by Diana, was about as General as it gets. It didn't specifically answer what you asked. And if it answered anything you wanted to know that was only by sheer coincidence.

Also consider... the article had a Copyright attached to it and then a link to somewhere. It was also Diana's first post here.

That she did not take the time to address you personally and spend the time to answer your question, and just opted for the lazy generic copy&paste - including headline decorations to try to make it stand out more (which were removed) - signified it was done in this way just to get a link in.

Links to websites from a discussion board are a Privilege given by the board owner and not a right. A privilege and thank you for those who take the time to contribute.

It doesn't matter that someone May have found something new in the article. That was only a coincidence when the main reason it was posted was to get a link in.

The Correct way is to Answer the question and Then, for your effort in doing so, leave a link where the reader can find out more if they want to.

Thank You Michael Ross. That explained it well.

But I am not real clear on 1 thing.

Should I not be putting my link under my name when I ask or answer questions? I thought I was suppose to do that.
There is just so much to learn it is hard to keep up with it all.

Thanks for the help! (I know one day I will be able to answer questions on here. )

Christi,

Thanks for asking for clarity.

Legitimate questions and answers do earn the person the right to leave a link.

But there are people who... will ask an inane question just so they can leave a link. And there are people who will fly in, paste some text and leave a link, never to be heard of again. In both cases, the person has not earned the link at all.

There are also those who ask a question under a fake name, then come back later and answer their own questions by using a different name. With said answer usually involving a link

Those who moderate this board have seen it all and can spot it a mile off.

Just Participate as a normal person would and you'll be fine.
