James, reaching parents of college students is extremely easy. Just contact any mailing list broker in the Yellow Pages. You can get lists according to income, geography, kind of college, year in school, etc.

My advice would be to include one item in the kit that is a bit harder to find or more creative than baked goods and other things anyone can buy at their local convenience store.
