![]() I've been a lurker here for a while and wanted some feedback if I could get it.
My career has been in all aspects of securing and administering PCs, networks, the Internet, etc., at least until I got to where I couldn't do the physical work. I am thinking of a resource for sale, a 2-3 times a week online newsletter, that covers all aspects of security for people doing business online. All the security related materials out there are for either geeks like me and regular people can't understand it or for Jane Housewife and don't cover all that needs to be covered. This would have to be a paid situation due to the complexities and everyday/every hour changes that happen in this field. If I even attempted to write an ebook it would be 3,000 pages and out of date before I got through with chapter 1. I have subscribed, for years, to about 30+ different ezines, daily updates, monthly magazines and hard copy newsletters. And there's even more that I could subscribe to. But no one publication covers it all and none are suited for people like us trying to make money on the Net without staff members to do all these types of things. Just a taste of what would be covered would be: protecting your downloads/membership sites (it's not just a Paypal problem), protecting your passwords and other vital information, what you need to do on your computer to protect it, what tools are out there for security related things like membership sites with full reviews, what to do if you are accused of spam, how to prevent credit card fraud, how to set up your ebooks so that they can't be passed around, etc. I've got the materials, I've got the outline, I've gotten a little feedback here and there that something like this would be needed but I've never really laid it out like I have here. So two questions if you'd be so kind: 1. Would you pay for something like this? If not, why not? 2. If so, how much would you pay on a monthly basis to preserve your business, sanity, and profits? Initial responses from others are from $9.95 a month to $49.95 a month. Thank you all, Mark |
