Australia's leader wants to ban ALL handguns

except those used in recognised sporting competition. And to those states who are baulking... he is threatening to use his constitutional powers to make it happen!!

Throw in the recent powers given to the police of one particular state - they can just up and apprehend and detain and search you and your home if they think you're up to no good - with the pretext your might be planning something (terrorist deeds, for example). NO warrant or visible justifiable cause necessary!!! (Sounds like the Nazis to me.)

I can't decide if there's an underlining menace to Mr. Howard's obsession with bending over to minority groups who want a free Muslim world where if you're not Muslim you get executed or he's just another stupid politician who likes making the headlines and pandering to other minority groups

Australia and the people are great, but it's there outlook which may be their undoing.

Australia is a very laid back country and the people in general have a very laid back attitude.

This makes it a great place to live, but it also means the Australian people in general don't give much thought or time to how the current government is undermining the very freedom and lifestyle that makes the country so livable.

It's not that they don't care, but the culture and geographic position, give a false sense of security.

There's definitely something fishy going on in the Australian government......on one hand they want to follow George W, where ever he goes, but then on the other they want to disarm their population.

Now all the Libbys can do is criticize those dastardly police officers and criminals to let this thing get out of hand. Why didn't the criminals STOP all their criminaling? Didn't they know they were SUPPOSED to "go along with the Libby programs and not make the Libbys look bad?"

The LEAST the criminals could have done was carry out their crimes and killing in Virginia. How disrespectful!"

Thanks John for your advice. Researching those words opened my eyes to the fact that only God's opinion matters.
